Jessica Lynn's Top NAMM Picks

Hey Everyone!

I just returned home to New York from a very hectic NAMM show in Anaheim, California this week.  For those of you not familiar with NAMM, it is :

"The NAMM Show is an annual event in the US that its organizers describe as "the world's largest trade-only event for the music products industry". It is held every January in Anaheim, California, US at the Anaheim Convention Center, and is one of the two largest music product trade shows in the world."

This convention is where my band and I get to visit all the wonderful musical gear companies that endorse us and work with us in person and where we get to meet and network with exciting new companies and people within the music industry!

We performed 16 shows in 3 days throughout the convention and I am home recovering before we leave for our next tour this week in Bermuda!  I'm catching up on sleep because I am EXHAUSTED from all that running around.  We did have such an awesome time though.

I did want to share with you guys what my "Top Picks" were from this year's NAMM show (in no particular order) of all the incredible companies that showcased at the convention.  I saw so many really cool new products but there were a few that stood out to me that I wanted to share with you!   Please do check them out!  Here we go.  My favorites from this year's show were:::::::

6)   BC Audio Amps
These amps have an incredible powerful sound and are uniquely made.  My favorite part about these amps are that some of them come in a .50 caliber ammunition box instead the traditional wooden head shell.   Bruce, the creator and builder was kind enough to let my lead guitarist Steve Sterlacci borrow one throughout NAMM and it really brought a great sound to each of our sets.  Fun fact :  Bruce's amplifiers were used on Luke Bryan's hit "Country Girl Shake it for Me."

5) Copper Peace Straps

These straps immediately caught my eye and it was easy to see after looking into the company why major artists such as Katy Perry, Walk the Moon. and Alanis Morissette wear these.  It's hard sometimes being a female guitar player as it isn't that easy to find glitzy and feminine accessories to go along with my instruments.  I had to get this gold sequin strap because it matches my beautiful D'Angelico Guitars sunburst acoustic.  You will be seeing it out on tour with me this year!  Every strap is handmade in the USA and this company gives back by donating straps to The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus to give kids musical opportunities.

4) Timber Tones Guitar Picks

These guitar picks are SERIOUSLY unique and amazing.  They make them out of different types of wood which allow for an incredible array of tones and sounds while playing both electric and acoustic guitars.  My favorite thing they just came out with are their "Flag Tones" picks!  You guys know how patriotic I am and how much I love our American flag and our troops and veterans.  These picks are the perfect way to honor our great nation and show your USA pride and are guaranteed to give you any tone in the studio or during a live performance that you could ever want.

3) Reunion Blues Gig Bags

These gigs bags are MY FAVORITE! Being on the road so much, it is absolutely essential that you protect your instruments from all the hazards of traveling with them.  Strong, sturdy, padded cases are one of the most important things that you could possibly take on tour.  Reunion Blues just came out with a new line: The "Voyager" series.  Their cases were always super-protective but this new line really raises the bar for gig bags.  They are lighter, more padded, have more neck support, and a super slim design.  I already have an order in for one to put my new electric guitar in. When we were at the booth I also was able to check out their new guitar stands too that are AWESOME.  This company is so innovative and really understands the needs of a working musician.  They get an A+ from my band and I in every way.

2) D'Angelico Guitars

I have been a fan and major supporter of D'Angelico Guitars for several years now but what this company is up to presently blows me away.  They just came out with two new  lines of electric guitars :  The "Premier" line of guitars and also The "Deluxe" line.   The "Premier" line is a very affordable line of extremely well-made guitars in many different styles including their new "tear drop" style guitar which is very unique.   I am the proud new owner of a D'Angelico Premier Series SS with Stairstep Tailpiece Hollowbody Electric Guitar in white.  I fell in love with it at the showroom and played it at my performances as NAMM.  The "Deluxe" series is a higher end new line with more features such as high end pickups and more tonal options with coil splitting and a 6 way pickup selector.  They also put out a brand new line of lighter acoustic guitars with an upgraded Fishman preamp.  Without a doubt D'Angelico makes my favorite guitars and I will be a loyal customer forever. Now with the lower price-point of many of their products, I'm really glad that D'Angelico guitars can be put into the hands of players within any budget.  You can see my new white SS on tour with me this year!

1) G Frames Guitar Display Cases

It is not often that something in a NAMM showroom takes my breath away.  G Frames Guitar Display Cases did that and more.  G Frames are each handmade display cases that are truly works of art.  They can be custom created and painted to suit any guitar or decor and are the most fashionable and eye-catching way to display any type musical instrument.  The craftsmanship is unparalleled and so unique.  Not only are these products beautiful but the husband and wife team behind the company are some of the nicest people I have ever met.  You NEED to check out them out!

Thanks so much for taking the time to read through my Top NAMM picks!  I had such a blast on this year's trip and am very happy to share my experiences and new favorite gear with you all!  Please make sure to check out these awesome companies above by viewing my embedded links and tell them Jessica Lynn sent ya!

See you soon!

XO  Jessica

Wow, Jessica you have great taste & style. That sequin strap should catch the light & reflect on your fans. Do they have one in copper?(that's the electrician in me talking) I also love the wood pics. So cool looking & all natural. I'm sure you won't be throwing them into the crowd. But if you do throw them my way.
